Firmbase Journey
Firmbase Founder, CT Pung, has seen first-hand how companies, big and small, polluted the environment and harmed to others out of ignorant and for profit. His belief that we cannot profit and bring harm to present and future generations has brought him on the Sustainable Development journey 15 years ago. After preparing himself to take on this long journey, he started Firmbase Pte Ltd to explore technological opportunities in materials to meet the growing needs on water, energy, and infrastructure.
Coming from a huge corporation where short-term profitability is paramount and where decisions are based primarily on Self-Excellence, CT’s journey in Sustainable Development as an individual and a small company with limited resources and funding is an exploratory process. Firmbase’s approach is to:

Firmbase Advances
In water filtration with the use of polymeric membranes, one of the key challenges is the anti-fouling performance of the membrane. Firmbase, in collaborating with both industry partners and research institutions, developed a super hydrophilic membrane technology that enhances the anti-fouling of polymeric membranes.
In overcoming Plastics pollution, one of the approach is to substitute traditional plastics with biodegradable plastics. Firmbase, in collaboration with industry partners, are developing technologies and products that can bring cost-competitive biodegradable plastic products to the end-users. It is a testimony, not just on technology and business, of vertical and horizontal integrated business collaboration with common Sustainability Commitment and Trust.
